The benefit of having a Reviews widget on your website is that it synchronises the reviews you receive from all platforms so they appear on your website without needing to manually add them. This feature will only work if you already have reviews to display in the widget.

To create and implement your reviews widget on your website, log into your account dashboard on desktop. In the Your Business Profile section, click on Access your Reputation Manager dashboard and follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Reviews tab in the top navigation and select Widgets from the left-hand menu.

  2. Next, find Reviews in the left-hand menu and in that box, click Create +. You will see a drop-down box where you will need to select which location you wish to create a widget for.

  3. Choose a theme from one of the four pre-set options. Once you have chosen a theme, a Live Preview will display on the right-hand side of the page. You can also access Advanced settings, where you can manually select the colour, font and size of the widget, using the Live Preview to make sure you’re happy with any changes you make.

  4. The option to Configure your display settings allows you to enable or disable the display of any of the three sections of the widget:

Header – This shows Average rating and total number of first party reviews. If no first party reviews have been received, nothing will show.

Body – This shows the reviews and responses to first party reviews. A maximum of five reviews are displayed per page, with the most recent appearing at the top. Again, if no first party reviews have been received nothing will show.

Footer – This shows the three third-party platforms that have the most reviews for your business, e.g. Facebook, Google, and TripAdvisor. If less than three third-party platforms have reviews for you, then either two, one or no publishers will show.

When you have finished configuring your widget, under Choose your installation method choose either WordPress or JavaScript to export the code and place it on your website wherever you would like the widget to appear.

You can also email this code to the administrator of your website provider for them to add it. If you have a Yell website, simply contact us and we will add the code for you.

Going forward, if you change any widget settings in your account dashboard, it will automatically update on your website without you having to re-add the code.

As best practice, we recommend you have a separate page on your website dedicated to reviews and testimonials for your new Reviews widget to be displayed.
