In addition to all the standard features, Yell Messaging Advanced also includes:

Up to six fully customisable, pre-qualifying questions that Hartley can use to provide you with detailed information so you can reply more accurately first time
An Advanced Messaging profile badge on your Yell listing to make your business stand out
Prominence in relevant Yell search results so you can appear over free listings - plus an added boost for content and nearby searches
Visibility in Yell searches where customers filter by ‘Advanced Messaging’
Access to advanced analytics

How do I know when someone messages me?

Every time someone messages your business, you will receive an email plus an app notification if you have notifications turned on within the app settings and enabled on your device.

Turn email notifications on in the Yell for Business app by following these steps:

Log in and tap Account
Click the cog icon in the top right hand of the screen to access settings
Under Notifications, click Email review notifications
Select the listing you would like to receive notifications for
Enter the email address where you would like to receive notifications and tap Save

Enable push notifications for the Yell for Business app in your device settings:

Note: Email notifications are currently switched off for all customers while a known issue is being investigated.

What is the Advanced Messaging badge on Yell.com?

With Yell Messaging Advanced, your business will receive an Advanced Messaging badge on your Yell listing to help you stand out better in Yell search results. When a customer messages you, they are prompted to offer more detailed information about their enquiry.

When you’re creating the custom questions you want our helpful chatbot Hartley to ask potential customers, think about what will help gather relevant and useful information for you to provide a detailed response to customer enquiries. Consider what you are often asked or need to know when a customer first contacts your business.

How do I set up my questions for Yell Messaging Advanced?

You can edit your custom questions at any time using the Yell for Business app:

Tap on Account in the navigation bar
Tap on Products
Tap on Advanced Questions
Tap on the + icon in the top yellow bar to add a new question or tap the arrow next to an existing question to re-word it
Type the question you would like asked before a conversation is passed to you and then tap Done
To remove questions or change the order, tap on Edit
The icon to the left of each question lets you delete it, and the icon to the right lets you change the order. Once you’re happy, tap on Done to save your changes

How do I view my Yell Messaging Advanced analytics?

You can view your Yell Messaging Advanced analytics in the Yell for Business app:

Tap Account in the navigation bar
Select Analytics
Tap Messaging analytics

You will see the following screen:

The analytics displayed are:

Conversations received - The number of enquiries received from potential customers
Messages sent by Hartley - The total number of messages sent by Hartley
Messages you’ve sent - The total number of messages you have sent

You can view analytics from the last 30 days, 90 days, or 6 months.

What happens if I do not respond immediately to a message?

If a customer messages you but you don’t immediately respond, the message will remain in your inbox within the Yell for Business app for you to reply at a convenient time.

While Hartley instantly replies to messages before passing them onto you in the Yell for Business app, we recommend you respond as quickly as possible to avoid losing potential business to competitors.

Customers who message a business will be advised of how quickly they respond based on their four most recent responses compared to the response time specified when you activated Yell Messaging.

If you can’t provide a full response quickly, send a brief reply to acknowledge receipt of their message and let them know when you will be able to provide a more detailed response.

How can I put a temporary pause on receiving messages?

Simply access the settings on the Yell for Business app to toggle messaging availability to off. Be sure to set a reminder to switch this back on when you are ready to receive messages again.
