What are the benefits I will get from this upgrade?

Your upgrade includes some great new features to help better engage your customers, including:

Customer management tools

Capture all website form submissions and respond to customers directly from your built-in inbox, making it quicker and easier to nurture potential customers without having to export and import data across different platforms.

Email campaigns, fast

Create up to 3 different email campaigns per month to engage visitors who have submitted forms, website members, or an uploaded list of contacts. With a selection of professional templates to choose from, you can easily engage your audience, promote your website, and build your brand with email campaigns.

Professional quotes & invoices

Send professionally designed quotes to contacts, including an expiry date, required payment terms, breakdown of services offered, pricing and any discounts. Then if a customer accepts the quote, automatically generate an invoice for the agreed service.

Timesaving automations

Set up to 2 automated tasks triggered by customer actions to drive engagement. For example, send a thank you email to customers when they fill in your ‘Contact Us’ form, or send a discount coupon when a price quote you sent to a customer expires.

What if I don’t want to be upgraded?

There are plenty of support materials about the new platform for you to read and watch to get prepared for this upgrade, and to guide you through the set up and new features & functionality:

Question 5

When will websites be upgraded?

Accepted Answer

Upgrading our website customers will take place in batches, with the plan to start our first batch in November 2022. Every customer will be notified 2 weeks before their website is due to start their upgrade journey so you can get prepared - and excited!

Question 6

Is it possible to delay a website upgrade to a more suitable time?

Accepted Answer

We understand there are times when upgrading might not be ideal. So, if you receive a notification that your website is due to go through the upgrade in the next 2 weeks, but this doesn’t work for your business, please contact us ASAP by visiting https://www.yell.com/contactus/#/ and choosing one of the contact options. We can then put your website into a later batch to be upgraded at a more suitable time.

Question 7

I’m not happy with my current website, can I have a redesign before it is upgraded?

Accepted Answer

It will be better for you and easier for us to update your website after it has been upgraded to the new platform. Once your website has been upgraded, visit https://www.yell.com/contactus/#/ to contact us about what changes you want to make, and we can work with you to get those done, either as part of your current contract with us or with a new contract, depending on how extensive the changes are that you are looking to make.

Question 8

Does anything need to happen before a website is upgraded?

All customers will be notified 2 weeks before their website is due to start the upgrade journey when we will ask you to do up to three things – but don’t worry, we’ll explain more when we get in touch:

1. Make any pending edits on your website and publish all these changes:

2. Temporarily remove password protections from any website pages. This is so that we can access the content to move it over to the new platform:

3. Temporarily make all pages visible on your website menu on Desktop i.e., make all ‘hidden pages’ visible. This is so that we can access the content to move it over to the new platform:

These steps will only be needed if you want to keep/ transfer any pending edits, password-protected pages, and/ or hidden pages.

Question 9

Will this upgrade impact how my website indexes/performs on search engines (SEO)?

Accepted Answer

As part of the upgrade process, we will transfer all headings, descriptions, alt text, meta data, page URLs and existing 301 redirects from your website to minimise any disruption to how your website indexes and performs with search engines. However, we cannot guarantee that there will be no impact either in the short or long term.

Question 10

I have a PPC, Social and/or Smart Performance campaign with Yell, will that be impacted by this website upgrade?

Accepted Answer

The website upgrade should have no impact on your Yell-managed campaign, we will bring over the correct tracking to your new website which will replicate what was being tracked on your previous website.
