This article shows how to repoint your third-party domain (website URL) that is hosted with Fast Host.

STEP ONE

Visit the login page, click ‘Login’ and then ‘Control Panel Login’

Ask the customer to login with their details.

STEP TWO

At the left-hand side, under ‘Hosting & Domains’, click ‘Domain Names’

STEP THREE

You should see the domain names displayed – at the right-hand side of the one needed, click ‘DNS’

STEP FOUR

Find the ‘A Records’ section, click ‘Edit’ and update the records to match the below:

Host Name: Leave blank
Points To: 185.230.63.171

Click ‘Save’

STEP FIVE

Find the ‘CNAME’ records section, click ‘Edit’ and update the records to match the below:

Host Name: www

Points To: pointing.wixdns.net

Click ‘Save’

If either of the above records do not exist, you can use the ‘Add’ feature above the required record. Please ensure they match the below:

A Record:

Host Name: Leave blank

Points to: 185.230.63.171

CNAME Record:

Host Name: www

Points to: pointing.wixdns.net

STEP ONE

Visit the login page, hover over ‘Account’ and click ‘Dashboard’ and login.

STEP TWO

Click ‘Dashboard’ in the top left-hand corner and click ‘Manage’ next to the domain you are using.

Select ‘Advanced DNS’

STEP THREE

Identify the record for:

Host: @

Type: A Record

Click on the value of the A Record and update to 185.230.63.171 and then press the green tick to save.

STEP FOUR

Identify the record for:

Host: www

Type: CNAME

Click on the value of the CNAME and update to pointing.wixdns.net and then press the green tick to save.

Click ‘Save All Changes’ at the bottom.

If either of the above records do not exist, you can use the ‘Add New Record’ feature to add these. Please ensure they match the below if adding:

STEP ONE

Visit the login page, click ‘Control Panel’ and ask the customer to enter their login details.

STEP TWO

Scroll down and click ‘DNS Settings’

STEP THREE

Tick the box to activate the DNS panel if it appears. Please note: It won’t always ask this. Click ‘Save’

STEP FOUR

Identify the record for: Hostname: (Blank) Type: A

Update the records to match the below:

Host name:

Type: A

Result: 185.230.63.171

STEP FIVE

Identify the record for: Hostname: www Type: CNAME

Update the records to match the below:

Host name: www

Type: CNAME

Result: pointing.wixdns.net

After updating all the records, scroll down and click ‘Save’

STEP ONE

Visit the login page by clicking on ‘My Tsohost’ and login to your account.

STEP TWO

Click the ‘Domains’ box.

Select the spanner icon next to the domain you want to manage.

Then select ‘Custom DNS Records’ on the left-hand side.

STEP THREE

Identify the record for:

Type: A

Update the ‘Content’ to 185.230.63.171 and then click ‘Update Zone’

STEP FOUR

Identify the record for:

Type: CNAME

Update the ‘Content’ to pointing.wixdns.net and then click ‘Update Zone’.

If either of the above records do not exist, you can use the ‘Add New Record’ feature to add these to match the above.

STEP ONE

Click ‘Sign in’ in the top right-hand corner and ask the customer to login using their login details.

STEP TWO

Click ‘Domain & SSL’.

Find the domain you wish to use, select the cog under ‘Actions’ and select ‘DNS’

STEP THREE

You will see a series of columns labelled, type, host name, value, service, and actions. Under the column labelled

‘Type’, identify any entries with the letter ‘A’ and click the bin icon to delete.

STEP FOUR

In addition, delete any of the below records:

Click ‘Add Record’

STEP SIX

Select the ‘A’ option

STEP SEVEN

In the ‘Host Name’ box physically type @ In the ‘Points to’ box, enter 185.230.63.171 Leave the TTL box at 1 hour

Click the blue text that says ‘> Do not add DNS record www’ and click ‘Save’

STEP EIGHT

Click ‘Add Record’

STEP NINE
Select the ‘CNAME’ option

In the ‘Host Name’ box physically type www In the ‘Points to’ box, enter: pointing.wixdns.net
Leave the TTL box at 1 hour
Click ‘Save’

STEP ONE

Domains’ drop down. Click ‘Manage’.

STEP THREE

Under ‘Advanced domain settings’, click ‘Manage DNS’.

STEP ONE

STEP THREE

Click the ‘A Records’ tab and double click your website URL under the ‘host’ heading.

Update the IP Address to 185.230.63.171 and click ‘Update’

If the record doesn’t exist, click ‘Add record’ and insert your website URL without the www. as the ‘Host’. Add

185.230.63.171 as the ‘IP Address’, click ‘update’, scroll down, and ‘Save’

STEP FOUR

Click the ‘CNAME Records’ tab and double click your website URL under the ‘host’ heading.

Update the ‘domain’ to pointing.wixdns.net and click ‘update’. Scroll down and click ‘Save’

If the record doesn’t exist, click ‘Add record’ and insert your website URL including the www. as the ‘Host’. Add

pointing.wixdns.net as the ‘Domain’, click ‘Update’, scroll down and click ‘Save’
