This article shows how to repoint your third-party domain (website URL) that is hosted with IONOS (1&1). 

STEP ONE

Click ‘Sign in’ in the top right-hand corner and ask the customer to login using their login details.

STEP TWO

Click ‘Domain & SSL’.

Find the domain you wish to use, select the cog under ‘Actions’ and select ‘DNS’

STEP THREE

You will see a series of columns labelled, type, host name, value, service, and actions. Under the column labelled

‘Type’, identify any entries with the letter ‘A’ and click the bin icon to delete.

STEP FOUR

In addition, delete any of the below records:

Click ‘Add Record’

STEP SIX

Select the ‘A’ option

STEP SEVEN

In the ‘Host Name’ box physically type @ In the ‘Points to’ box, enter 185.230.63.171 Leave the TTL box at 1 hour

Click the blue text that says ‘> Do not add DNS record www’ and click ‘Save’

STEP EIGHT

Click ‘Add Record’
